AFL Updates

After being the part of 54-point victory over Port Adelaide, Mitch Robinson will no longer be able to participate in Carlton\’s 2009 campaign, as he has suffered an unexpected mighty stress fracture.

Mitch has been acclaimed to be almost a livewire during this season and his performance in all the 10games was simply fascinating. But, apparently his season campaign is almost over with this unexpected fracture in foot, and it will definitely be a big blow to the Blues team and all the fans.

Coach Brett Ratten unveiled this sad news, and exclaimed sometimes things get too footy, but that’s all part of the game and you’ve to accept it.

Mitch had bagged the Harrison Medal for best player in All-Australian and also 2nd division selections. Right from his debut at the age of 20-years, Mitch had shown his hard-at-it attitude.

The absence of Mitch will definitely pinch the Blues squad, but this is how things move on. There have been lot of surprise this year in the AFL premiership. And, the biggest of them all has been the sheer fact that last year’s winners Hawks, who were the hot favourites this time too, are not even near the top 5 spot in the current 2009 AFL standings.

Keep an eye on the Round 21, as things heat up, and sure thing there are still many more shockers to come for sure.
